200-Hour Teacher Training

Sacred Moon School of Yoga is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance.  Our 200-hour yoga teacher training consists of 8 weekends developed to take you deep into yourself and into your practice. You will learn how to guide vinyasa style classes with depth and meaning.  

Rooted in the belief that everyone has a purpose and a message to share.  Our training encourages you to develop your unique gifts to be expressed authentically and powerfully.   

We invite, not only those who wish to become teachers but anyone who wants to take their practice to a deeper physical, mental and spiritual level.  

Points of Emphasis

  • Introduction to the Yamas and Niyamas and the history of yoga

  • Introduction to pranayama techniques

  • Introduction to the eight limbs of yoga

  • How to develop a consistent meditation and yoga practice

  • How to articulate direct, clear, intelligent cues

  • How to teach asana with safe alignment 

  • How to build intelligent, heartfelt vinyasa sequences

  • How to teach to varying levels

  • Basic verbal and hands-on adjustments

  • Beginner anatomy and physiology

  • Introduction to the business of yoga

  • Introduction to Ayurveda

Curriculum

Training, Techniques, and Practice 75 Hours

 

This will be the largest hourly aspect of our training.

  • Guided practice consisting of asana, mantra, pranayama and meditation.

  • Alignment techniques in specific yoga postures to make positions safe and accessible.

  • How to safely access meaning, grace, flexibility, and power into your practice.

 

Anatomy and Physiology  30 Hours

 

  • Accurately name the major body structures including muscles, bones, joints and organ systems

  • Introduction to fascia

  • Understanding the nervous system and its relationship with the practice of yoga

  • The importance of breathwork

Yoga Humanities  30 Hours

 

This training will provide a broad yogic knowledge base, ability to develop and find your own teaching voice with the confidence necessary to share the beauty of yoga in a way that can transform lives.
